QfQ UpdatesMay 10, 2011 at 7:30 pm | Posted in Craftivism, Portland | Leave a comment
After a successful Sewing Bee weekend at Modern Domestic, we have a couple of new developments to share!
First up: We are so pleased to be partnering with Modern Domestic – a women owned, local sewing business – for hosting the QfQ shop! This is great news as they have an existing and successful online shop where they sell sewing and crafting classes at all levels. This ensures that all the money you spend on the QfQ goodies will in fact go towards Mercy Corps Japan Relief Fund!
We are still tightening things up, but we will have three (!) different products in the shop:
1. Beautiful, community made full sized quilts! They are all different in size, construction type and design, therefore prices will differ as well. Prices start at $125! 7 have been finished so far and we still have quilt tops that need to be turned into finished quilts over the next weeks!
2. We have selected two outstanding quilts that we’ll raffle away over a month once posted. They will be showcased at MD and/or Bolt and raffle tickets will be available at these locations and online as well. Tickets will be $5.
3. Brown paper Surprise Bags: Once we realized that there is no way in a lifetime to timely turn those beautiful strips donations into quilt tops, we settled on the idea of creating pretty fabric assortments and selling them as ‘Surprise Bags’. The contents of these bags are eclectic fabric mixes, chosen by Susan Beal and myself, which will yield 12 quilt blocks, equivalent to a lap sized quilt. Those will be available for $25 each, which includes shipping.
1. QfQ Surprise Bags, 2. QfQ Surprise Bags, 3. QfQ – Grab bag sample contents, 4. QfQ – Grab bag sample contents, 5. QfQ – Grab bag sample contents, 6. QfQ – Grab bag sample contents
These are just 4 of content examples of 36 grab bags! So stay tuned as we’ll let you know how you can get your hands on one of these guys!
We hope to have the shop up next week!
Thank you all!
