the QfQ Fundraiser is up and running!May 13, 2011 at 11:34 pm | Posted in Craftivism, Fundraising, Portland | 2 Comments
Wow, what a week! Thanks to the amazing efforts and donations of so many people here in Portland and all over the US and Canada, we are so happy to announce that the QfQ Fundraiser for Mercy Corps is officially launched! Thanks to our generous hosts, Modern Domestic, we have a web shop with six quilts and many surprise bags listed for sale, plus a superstar raffle quilt you can win through $5 donations to Mercy Corps!
Everything is available for sale or raffle at Modern Domestic, both online and in person at the shop, and much more information about each quilt, and its donors, makers, and details is included in each listing. Our flickr photos in the collage also have all the info, so please browse the flickr pool for lots more shots of each quilt with full descriptions there too!
Our Mercy Corps donation page is right here, where each sale’s full price will be added to the total for Peace Winds Japan. The first donation will be recorded tonight – I bought the lovely lime-green and orange quilt made by Rachel and bound by me, in the lower right-hand corner of the collage!
For more on the $25 Surprise Bags (which we will also be adding to our Etsy shop soon), check out Daniela’s post from a few days ago.
Thank you to everyone who has made the fundraiser not only possible, but beautiful. We are still gratefully accepting donations of quilts to add to the shop, and would love help finishing the next round of quilts in progress, too. Please comment or email us if you want to jump in to quilt or bind some quilts with us this month!
PS: More to come on this soon, but if you’re local, be sure to mark June 10th on your calendar – QfQ is teaming up with I Heart Art PDX, Etsy and the Museum of Contemporary Craft for an awesome fundraiser/quilting bee/craft party right here in Portland!
