Seven Islands thank-you!June 8, 2011 at 12:40 am | Posted in Craftivism, Fundraising, Portland, South Pasadena | Leave a comment
Got a lovely update from Seven Islands on their quilt drive… THANK YOU to everyone who worked on the 30 beautiful quilts we sent out.
Hi Daniela and Susan!
Hope you are well!
Thank you so very much for your kind and generous donation to our quilt drive! We were so incredibly delighted to receive all of your quilts! Thanks to your hard work and generosity we were able to collect 388 quilts from our US division alone, hooray! Our European division collected 295 quilts too. Which brings us to a grand total of 683 comfort quilts sent to Patchwork Tsushin in Japan.
Again, we can’t thank you enough for your kind and generous donation. We know that your quilts will bring much needed comfort to those who need it the most.
Thanks a million and have a fabulous day!
Seven Islands Inc.
Hooray is right – almost 700 quilts sent to those in need in Japan is amazing. Our deepest gratitude to Seven Islands for their generosity in organizing and shipping these lovely gifts. We’re so thankful for their work!
Back to our phase 2 – we’re finishing more quilts to sell for Mercy Corps‘s work in Japan with Peace Winds. You can see all the current QfQ fundraiser quilts here in the shop
and they’ll be on display at the Craft Party on Friday at the Museum of Contemporary Craft, too! Please come quilt, tie, bind, or hand-sew with us during our QfQ bee in the Lab, we would love to have you come by anytime between 11 and 6. Hope to see you… and we’ll have some more news (and quilts!) to share this week, too, so please stay tuned!
