Portland Craft Party is hosting a QfQ quilting bee at the Museum of Contemporary Craft from 11-6 this Friday, June 10 for Etsy’s birthday!! Please come sew, quilt, tie, or bind with us – Modern Domestic is lending us SIX Berninas to use.

Free Quilting Bees:
The first QfQ quilting bee at Modern Domestic on 3/22 was amazing – Daniela hosted a happy group of 5 quilters for cutting and piecing! Lots of photos here.

F 4/15 – 1 pm – 9 pm, Sew On Studio
Cherri and Rachel have offered to host a long-arm quilting party for the first round of QfQ quilts! There’s plenty of room for everyone to cut, piece, or bind at either or both events, while they work some professional quilting magic. Snacks and drinks provided, please bring machines and fabric if you can – Friday’s quilting party can go into the evening which will be super fun!

Modern Log Cabin Quilting/QfQ book events:
S 4/2/11 – 5-6 pm, Come to Susan’s book release/craft event at Modern Domestic, get a free kit and sew a log cabin quilt block (to donate to QfQ or take home with you!) and drop off any fabric or blocks you’d like to donate. Event is from 5-6 pm (free), open sewing night ($10) is from 6-9.
Su 4/3/11 – 4-5 pm, Susan’s MLCQ book event at Powell’s downtown (free). You can get a kit to make a simple log cabin block and drop off any fabric or blocks donations!
Th 4/21/11 – 7-9 pm, Portland Modern Quilt Guild meeting at PNCA (free). Meetings are super fun (more info on the blog) and Susan will be doing a short presentation on the history and styles of Log Cabin quilting at this one if you’re interested. You can also drop off any fabric or blocks donations, thanks so much!
Sew Basic Events:
$30 per person, 50% of proceeds go toward the QfQ fund. An excellent way for beginning sewers to learn to sew the machines and give at the same time! This includes 3 hours open sew time.

The Handmade Detroit Social Circle craft night at i3 Detroit with Lish + Karen was great too! Much fabric was cut for QfQ blocks, thank you Mitten Staters!

Hi Daniela and Susan! I work for Common Thread Studio in South Pasadena and just spent the day organizing some community quilting dates at our shop and sewing studio.
