Thank you to everyone who has donated this week and chosen a quilt – we are so thrilled! These quilts are still available for a $150 donation to Mercy Corps – including the brand-new #6 in the collage, Michelle Freedman’s original Cat’s Game quilt!:

If you are interested, please go to our page on the Mercy Corps website and donate $150 (shipping is on us). You can donate to ANY cause you’d like the money to go to, not just Japan. Just state your preferred cause in the subject line. Mercy Corps will distribute the funds according to your specifications on their back end. Then you can send an email to quiltsforquakesurvivors@gmail.com with the donation confirmation number and the number of the quilt and your shipping address. We will send you a confirmation email and ship the quilt within 48 hours via USPS. Also – if you’ve already donated $150 or more for end of year giving, you can send us the donor number and we’ll gladly send you a quilt as a thank-you.

After this week, we’ll donate any remaining quilts to Bradley-Angle House, a shelter here in Portland, for the women and children there. Thank you to everyone who has supported QfQ, and happy new year!

As we are wrapping up our fundraising efforts for Mercy Corps and getting ready to donate to Bradley-Angle House for women and children, we have gotten a lot of questions about which quilts exactly are still available.

End of year giving to Mercy Corps and winding down QfQ

Hello lovely QfQ supporters!

We are closing in on the end of 2011 and with it, the end of our QfQ fundraiser for Mercy Corps. After this next week of fundraising, we will donate the remaining quilts to Bradley-Angle House, a shelter here in Portland that serves women and children in need. Thank you more than we can say for the beautiful support – to everyone who donated fabric, pieced blocks, sashed tops, basted, quilted, tied, and bound these quilts. So many of you put your hearts into these quilts – thank you so much!

After we sent 30 of our community-made quilts to Japan in April,

we’ve raised $2150 (and counting) for Mercy Corps. One of the most wonderful moments of our QfQ experience was meeting Minda, an amazing Mercy Corps fundraiser, who purchased a beautiful set of quilts with a generous donation from her and her mother. Here are two of our favorites that she chose!

We still have a beautiful collection of quilts for sale to benefit Mercy Corps. Update: 019 is SOLD to Allison, thank you so much, Allison! Here is a new quilt, with a couple more to come this week as we round them up from the last quilters – Block of the Month 3 – 019! It was sashed from block-of-the-month blocks donated by Cool Cottons,

backed in white, gorgeously long-arm quilted by Nancy Stovall in an all-over circles and spokes pattern,

and machine-bound by Susan with orange and hot pink binding. It measures about 58″ x 45″.
